Hey Brady, chin up buttercup

Tom Brady may have been "pissed" about his team's loss to Denver Sunday night, but here's something he can smile about. With 420 TD passes, the New England QB ties Dan Marino, joining three other elite QBs for the most TD passes in NFL history.

Celtics pushing pace against Heat

Boston is turning Miami over and spreading them out. The Celtics have used an 11-2 run to take a 3-point lead late in the first quarter. Follow live

The Celtics tried hard to land Justise Winslow on draft night and offered four first-round picks to Charlotte in hopes of snagging him at No. 9. The Hornets passed (to pick Frank Kaminsky) and the Miami Heat swooped up Winslow at 10. Winslow was playfully asked before Mondays Celtics-Heat game how many first-round picks hes worth and, his locker neighbor, Chris Andersen, shouted, Five! as Winslow just smiled. Looks like Boston came up a pick short on its offer.

An MRI confirms that the Patriots TE has a bruised right knee, and no tears, a source tells ESPN's Dianna Russini. A source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Gronkowski's injury is considered a "minor knee strain," and said he'll be out "a week or two, most likely."

The Patriots informed rookie WR Chris Harper that he is being waived, a source confirms. Harpers muffed punt in the fourth quarter was a critical play in the Patriots 30-24 overtime loss to the Broncos. Harper is a strong candidate to return on the practice squad if he clears waivers. Tom E. Curran of Comcast SportsNet first reported Harpers release.

Brady 'pissed' after loss to Broncos

Pats QB Tom Brady was upset about losing TE Rob Gronkowski and some referee calls made down the stretch in the loss to Denver, telling WEEI: "I don't know that I have ever been so pissed off after a loss, and I think everyone felt the same way. ... The way it all played out, I guess I was pretty pissed off ... the final outcome, the way the final 20 minutes of the game played out." Story

The Red Sox signing of OF Chris Young could open the door for trading Jackie Bradley Jr., but it seems like a quality depth signing to me. Bradley had a big August but also owns a career .298 OBP and Rusney Castillo has yet to show he can hit in the majors. Young is a good fourth outfielder who could start if either falters, leaving Brock Holt to back up in the infield.
