The Bruins recalled winger Mikko Lehtonen from Providence Wednesday on an emergency basis. Lehtonen will join the team for its morning skate on Thursday and be available for the Bruins' game against the Montreal Canadiens Thursday night.
Lehtonen has 3 goals and 7 assists with 25 penalty minutes in 11 games with Providence this year. He led Providence in goals last season with 28 and finished fourth overall in scoring with 53 points in 72 AHL games. He made his NHL debut with Boston on April 11, 2009 against the Sabres, his lone NHL appearance to date.
