Pats make many cuts, sign rookies

The New England Patriots welcomed one high-profile player in Chad Ochocinco on Friday, but they also added a couple of rookies and cut loose a number of well-known veterans.

Defensive tackle Ty Warren was released, along with fellow D-lineman Marcus Stroud, tight end Alge Crumpler, offensive tackle Nick Kaczur, cornerback Tony Carter and linebacker Ryan Coulson. As anticipated, linebacker Tully Banta-Cain was also released.
