Source: Shaun Ellis not ready for Pats

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Newly signed New England Patriots defensive lineman Shaun Ellis has been placed on the active/physically unable to perform list, according to a league source.

What this means is that Ellis was not ready to practice upon signing with the team Monday. He can resume practicing at any time, and still counts against the 90-man roster limit while on the active/PUP list.
