Andre Carter carted off vs. Broncos

DENVER -- Defensive end Andre Carter suffered what the New England Patriots initially called a left knee injury late in the first quarter of Sunday's 41-23 win against Denver.

However, sources told ESPN's Josina Anderson that X-rays on his knee were negative. Carter's agent, Carl Poston, later told Anderson that the early diagnosis "looks like Andre has a quad-related injury that will require surgery."
