Johnny Boychuk has strained knee

Bruins defenseman Johnny Boychuk has a mild knee strain and is day to day, Boston coach Claude Julien said Thursday in Ottawa.

Boychuk had a collision with Pittsburgh forward Arron Asham in the Bruins' 5-3 loss to the Penguins on Tuesday night and had to be helped off the ice. He walked out of TD Graden that night on his own, but with a limp.

The Bruins hope he will be ready for the beginning of the Stanley Cup playoffs next week.
