Tim Thomas hints at taking year off

Boston Bruins star Tim Thomas confirmed what general manager Peter Chiarelli told reporters on Friday: that the two-time Vezina Trophy winner is planning on taking next season off.

"At the age of 38, I believe it is time to put my time and energies into those areas and relationships that I have neglected," Thomas said on his Facebook page Sunday.
