Brian Waters excused from minicamp

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Veteran offensive lineman Brian Waters is the lone player not present for the New England Patriots' mandatory minicamp that started Tuesday, according to coach Bill Belichick.

Players who don't attend minicamp are subject to fines, but Belichick said Waters, the team's starting right guard in 2011, is "excused for personal reasons."
