Scott Podsednik back in Boston

The Boston Red Sox traded outfielder Scott Podsednik to the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 31.

Now, nine days later, he's back.

The Red Sox signed him to a major league deal on Thursday, Fox Sports reported.

Podsednik, 36, never reported to the Diamondbacks, who wanted him to play for Triple-A Reno. When he refused, the team granted him free agency.

He's a career .281 hitter with 42 home runs and 307 RBIs in nine major league seasons. In 19 games ...
