Andrew Bailey goes on DL

BOSTON -- The Boston Red Sox placed closer Andrew Bailey on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right biceps inflammation, activating left-handed reliever Craig Breslow in his place.

Bailey's stint on the DL will be postdated to April 29, the day after he last pitched, making him eligible to return on May 14.

The timing of his injury coincided with the return of Joel Hanrahan from the DL, which had led to questions regarding whether Bailey would retain the closer's job. ...
