Pats release WR Michael Jenkins

The New England Patriots have released veteran wide receiver Michael Jenkins, the team announced Thursday.

Jenkins signed with the Patriots in March after playing each of the past two seasons for the Minnesota Vikings. He had 40 catches for 449 yards and two touchdowns last season.
