Dustin Pedroia's foot almost 100 percent

Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia's injured left foot has finally healed, he said Wednesday during a radio appearance on WEEI.

Pedroia broke his foot on June 25 when he fouled a ball off of it in a game in San Francisco. He appeared in just two more games over the remainder of the season before having surgery on Sept. 3. Dr. George Theodore and Dr. Thomas Gill performed the operation.

"I saw Dr. Theodore today. The CT scan looked great, and he said I'm pretty much 99.9 percent healed," Pedroia said Wednesday on WEEI's The Big Show. "That's as close to 100 as we're going to get.

"I'm getting cleared to start jogging and build up to sprinting, and once January comes, hit it hard and get ready for the season."

Pedroia ended up playing in 75 games in 2010, batting .288 with 12 home runs, 41 RBIs and 53 runs.
