WASHINGTON -- Tampa Bay reliever Joel Peralta was ejected in the eighth inning of Tuesday night's game against the Washington Nationals for having a foreign substance on his glove.

Peralta entered at the start of the eighth, but as he was warming up, the umpires gathered at the mound and examined his glove. An umpire walked with the glove off the field and Peralta was ejected before throwing a pitch.

Peralta is 0-2 with two saves and a 3.81 ERA in 34 games.
