In advance of the All-Star Game selections announcement Saturday, ESPN.com asked six of its contributors -- Jim Bowden, Jerry Crasnick, Tim Kurkjian, Buster Olney, David Schoenfield and Jayson Stark -- to select the players who should comprise the American League's 34-man roster for the 84th Midsummer Classic on July 16 at Citi Field in New York.

Players on the disabled list weren't considered for inclusion on the AL roster. The lone exception is Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez, who is scheduled to come off the DL and start Saturday.
