Celtics forward Kevin Garnett missed Sunday's 96-81 loss against the Detroit Pistons because of a personal family matter, according to the team.

Garnett will be officially listed as day to day following Sunday's game but could also miss Monday's game in Dallas.

Garnett sat out Wednesday's loss to the Pistons with a sore left hip before returning to the court Thursday in Chicago. It was the only game he had previously missed this season.

Chris Wilcox started in place of Garnett against the Pistons.
