The NBA fined Boston Celtics forward/center Chris Wilcox $25,000 for making an obscene gesture directed toward fans during Friday's loss in Philadelphia, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced Sunday.
During a fourth-quarter timeout, Wilcox gave an in-house television camera broadcasting on the video board the middle finger when a "Kiss Cam" segment ended with a shot of him and teammate Jared Sullinger sitting next to each other on the Celtics' bench.
Jackson also announced a fine for Cavaliers coach Byron Scott, who criticized the officiating Friday after his team lost 91-73 to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Cavs attempted just nine free throws to Minnesota's 35, and Scott said the officiating was "that bad." He said: "I mean I understand we're playing in Minnesota, but 35-9, we went to the basket just as much as they did."
Scott was fined $25,000.
Wilcox is playing on a one-year, veteran-minimum contract.
