FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots re-signed wide receiver Austin Collie, the team announced Thursday.

Collie, who previously played in four games for the team and had three receptions for 34 yards, was released on Nov. 5 following the Patriots' Week 9 win over the Steelers. Collie, 28, injured his knee during that game.

The veteran receiver was drafted in the fourth round by the Colts in 2009. He has career totals of 176 catches for 1,879 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Patriots are dealing with injuries to two receivers.

Aaron Dobson has missed practice since leaving a Week 12 game against the Broncos with a foot injury, and fellow rookie Kenbrell Thompkins, who banged up his hip against the Texans in Week 13, was limited during Wednesday's practice.
