FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Shortly after the Patriots' preseason finale against the Giants, head coach Bill Belichick said the plan was to take a quick look at the film, then focus on roster cuts. All NFL teams have to trim rosters from 80 to 53 by Saturday.
Belichick was asked how many roster spots were truly open heading into the preseason finale.
"We'll do the best we can to make up the team and put together the best squad we can," he responded. "There's always a lot of player movement this time of the season. Last year, we traded for Tracy White and we weren't even talking about him after the game last year, so things like that happen. Who knows? I don't know."
It wouldn't be surprising if there was another White-like addition, perhaps along the offensive line, this year.
