New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has a sprained medial collateral ligament and will miss 1-2 weeks, a league source told The Boston Globe.

Hernandez left Sunday's game in the second half, and the Globe reports that he was seen limping in the clubhouse after the game.

Tight end play has been big for the 2-0 Patriots. Hernandez already has 14 catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns. Fellow tight end Rob Gronkowski leads the team with three TDs and has 10 catches for 172 yards.
