FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins was active for Saturday night's 45-10 AFC divisional playoff win against the Denver Broncos after missing the season finale with a sprained left knee. Fellow offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer, however, was inactive for the game with back and foot injuries.

Vollmer returned to practice this week after missing more than a month and was listed as questionable. Veteran Matt Light and rookie Nate Solder remained as the starting tackles, with rookie Marcus Cannon the backup option.

Safety Patrick Chung, who returned to action in the regular season finale after missing seven games to a foot injury, played again Saturday. Chung's status had been in focus this week, as he was removed from the injury report on Thursday, but returned to the report on Friday with a knee injury.

With Mankins active, his backup, Donald Thomas, was inactive for Saturday's game. Ryan Wendell and Nick McDonald were the reserve options along the interior offensive line.

Patriots defensive back Nate Jones, who has played in five games since being signed on Nov. 30, was also inactive. That left Devin McCourty, Kyle Arrington and Antwaun Molden as the top options at cornerback, while Chung, Ihedigbo, Sergio Brown, and Sterling Moore were active at safety. Cornerback Malcolm Williams, whose role is expected to be limited to special teams, was also active.

Linebacker Gary Guyton had started 32 games since joining the Patriots four years ago, but he was a healthy scratch Saturday. Guyton has seen his playing time drop off sharply in 2011, playing virtually no role in the defense and a minimal role on special teams by the end of the regular season.

Rookie running back Shane Vereen was also inactive despite being removed from the injury report on Thursday. Veteran Kevin Faulk was active. The Patriots also had BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Stevan Ridley, Danny Woodhead, and fullback Lousaka Polite active in the backfield.

Meanwhile, veteran safety Brian Dawkins, one of the leaders and key players for Denver's defense, was inactive.Dawkins missed last weekend's victory over Pittsburgh with a neck injury and has not recovered sufficiently to play in the divisional round.

Also missing for the Broncos was receiver Eric Decker, who hurt this left knee against Pittsburgh. Decker led the team with 44 catches and scored eight TDs this season.

Long snapper Lonie Paxton was out with a personal issue for the Broncos.
