FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib suffered a hip injury late in the second quarter of Monday night's 42-14 win over the Houston Texans and did not return.

Talib finished with three tackles and one pass defensed, and often was aligned opposite of Texans star wide receiver Andre Johnson.

Acquired in a trade Nov. 1, Talib has started the past four games for the Patriots, including Monday night's contest. He was not initially on the field to start the second half but soon emerged from the locker room and began jogging on the sideline to test the injury.

With the game well out of hand in the second half, the team might have opted to rest Talib to minimize risk of further injury.
