PHILADELPHIA -- Boston Bruins forward Marc Savard says he's ready for game action, and if coach Claude Julien asked him if he could play Thursday night, when the team hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning at TD Garden, Savard would give the go-ahead.
"Personally? Yeah, I think I would," Savard said after skating Wednesday morning at Wells Fargo Center. "I still have to be patient, try to get through this and not risk anything. If we all feel [Thursday] is the day, then maybe. If not, I'll just keep working hard."
The Bruins are in Philadelphia to face the Flyers Wednesday night. Julien said Savard would not play against the Flyers, but deemed him "day to day."
"I felt excellent out there again today," Savard said. "I'm just waiting for the call."
Savard has been out all season due to post-concussion syndrome.
