The Boston Bruins got some good news Wednesday regarding David Krejci, who was injured in Tuesday's practice and did not travel with the team for Wednesday night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Coach Claude Julien said the Bruins center has an injury to his midsection.

"We can certainly eliminate the knee injury that's been speculated about," Julien said. ""He's day to day and we'll see how he does to see if he joins us in Chicago (Saturday) or not."

Julien said Tyler Seguin will take Krejci's spot centering Milan Lucic and Nathan Horton, and Jordan Caron will skate on the third line.

"It'll be [Seguin] to start off anyway ... see how he does," Julien said. "We knew that down the road we'd need him to step up [at center]. We know (Rich) Peverley can be one of those guys, too.

"Nothing should change because of David's absence as far as team play is concerned."
