"Gentleman Jim" had a career year during Boston's "Impossible Dream" season in 1967, winning the AL Cy Young Award with a 22-9 record, 3.16 ERA and league-leading 246 strikeouts. He was elected to the Red Sox Hall of Fame in 2002.
