Aug. 20 -- The Red Sox announce Carl Crawford will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the remainder of the season. Crawford hurt his elbow while rehabbing his wrist in spring training and missed the first 89 games of the season, then hit .282 in 31 games before being shut down.
