Oct. 3 -- The Red Sox had a dreadful season by all accounts, going 69-93. It's their first 90-loss season since going 72-90 in 1966 and their most losses since finishing 62-100 in 1965. They lost eight straight games to conclude the season, including sweeps by the Orioles and Yankees. And the kicker? Before Wednesday's finale, Valentine said he felt he was undermined by some of his coaches during the season.
