7. Ray Allen Signs With Heat

July 11: Ray Allen took off for Boston's hated rival in Miami, signing a three-year deal and burning green bridges in the process. To add insult to injury, the three-year Heat contract (just under $10 million) was for less money than the Celtics were offering (two years, $12 million). It still stings in Boston. Longtime friend Kevin Garnett sniped to the media in September, "I don't have Ray's [phone] number anymore."
