The Big Three era came to an emotional and disappointing end when the Celtics -- after having gone up 3-2 in the series -- ran out of gas and were beaten in Games 6 and 7 of the Eastern Conference finals by the Miami Heat. It was a valiant run by an injury-depleted but determined Celtics team, and Doc Rivers was clearly choked up as he pulled his players off the court as time ran out in Game 7.
"I don't know if I've ever had a group like this," he said later. "They did everything I asked them to do. They came up short."
