The Patriots stopped the Colts four times inside the 1 to hold on for a win that would eventually give them home-field advantage in the AFC title game. The key play came when Willie McGinest stuffed Edgerrin James on the 1 with 14 seconds left to preserve the win. Manning passed for 278 yards and four touchdowns, with one interception. Brady had 236 passing yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
