As rumors percolated leading into the draft that the Patriots were considering a trade up for defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, who went No. 4 to the Jets, the club instead made a mini-jump from 14 to 13 to secure Ty Warren of Texas A&M. Warren (2003-2010) was a rookie of few words who would later come out of his shell and contribute as a left end in the 3-4 scheme. -- Mike Reiss
