The third baseman endured the humbling experience of being demoted to the minors and came back stronger for it, though his late-season slump- -- 8-for-58 (.138) over his last 15 games -- shows that teams are still finding ways to exploit his long swing. He can go off, like he showed with his 2-homer, 7-RBI game in Colorado last week, but he could use another confidence boost. -- Edes
