He'd rank, higher, too, if the Sox didn't have another capable receiver in David Ross. Saltalamacchia had by far his best offensive season and showed considerable improvement in his ability to call a game and run a pitching staff; there is no shortage of trust between pitcher and catcher. The running game is still an issue, but while the stolen-base numbers remain high, there has been improvement there, as well. -- Edes
