You could have surveyed players in 15 American League clubhouses, the baseball operations staffs in 15 AL cities, and the scouts sitting in the stands in 15 AL ballparks, and probably would not have found a single person predicting that among AL outfielders, only Mike Trout would have a higher on-base percentage than Nava.
