The veteran pitcher, who gave the Sox dependability and predictability at the back end of the rotation -- 14 quality starts and a chance to win the game when he was on the mound (17-12 in his starts) -- returns to the bullpen in search of the goal that has eluded him in a career that began 16 seasons ago: the chance to pitch in a Series.
