Mayweather's game plan is similar for most fights: Use the first few rounds to feel out, measure and time his opponent, then gradually dismantle him with scoring punches. Alvarez, however, might surprise us. We should expect him to be aggressive, to attempt to cut off the ring and sneak in heavy blows to the body. But that's an obvious approach, and Mayweather will surely have a counterattack ready. Canelo will need to show new resolve, adaptability and perhaps a nasty streak. Hitting the forearms and muscling Mayweather around the ring need to be in play if Alvarez is to slow and eventually pin down such a mobile, crafty foe.

Advantage: Alvarez
