Five keys for Luis Collazo

Former welterweight titlist Luis Collazo, in the midst of a three-fight win streak, is ready to return to splendor against one of the most difficult opponents of his career.

Collazo (34-5, 17 KOs) will face former welterweight titleholder Victor Ortiz (29-4-2, 22 KOs) on Thursday (9 p.m. ET) at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Ortiz is coming off a 19-month layoff after suffering a broken jaw in a June 2012 loss to Josesito Lopez. Beating Ortiz could mean the ticket to a new title opportunity for Collazo.

Here are five keys to victory for Collazo against Ortiz:

Stay close, stay active

Remember your best

Protect yourself at all times

Test the water; act accordingly

Seize the moment
