Cruiserweight titlist Krzysztof Wlodarczyk of Poland is coming to the United States for his third fight with former titleholder Giacobbe Fragomeni of Italy, Warriors Boxing promoter Leon Margules announced Tuesday.

Wlodarczyk-Fragomeni III will take place Dec. 6 at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. A deal for the bout to stream live on ESPN3.com in the United States is being finalized.

Margules has had success promoting Polish fighters in Chicago, where there is a large Polish community, and hopes fans will turn out for Wlodarczyk (48-2-1, 34 KOs), a popular figure in his home country. He has fought twice before in the United States, in 2005, long before he was a contender or titleholder.

"I am excited to defend my title against a worthy challenger in front of so many Polish Americans in the great city of Chicago," Wlodarczyk said. "I will finish this series with Fragomeni with a huge victory for all the fans."

The 32-year-old Wlodarczyk, nicknamed "Diablo," will be making his sixth title defense. He and Fragomeni (31-3-2, 12 KOs), 44, have met twice before. In May 2009, Wlodarczyk was saddled with a disputed draw when they met for Fragomeni's belt in Italy. One year later, almost to the day, they met in a rematch for the vacant belt and Wlodarczyk scored a dominant eighth-round knockout victory.

"It has been my unique privilege to help [8 Count Promotions'] Dominic Pesoli reignite Chicago as a boxing hotbed and this fight will feature yet another great Polish fighter in a world championship bout," said Margules, who co-promotes Wlodarczyk with Andrew Wasilewski and Piotr Werner of Ulrich Knockout Promotions. "The atmosphere of the Midwest's top location for boxing and the thrills that every Krzysztof Wlodarczyk fight creates will make for another unforgettable night."

Wlodarczyk is coming off perhaps the most impressive performance of his career, an eighth-round knockout of Rakhim Chakhkiev, a 2008 Russian Olympic gold medalist, in Moscow in June. Fragomeni has gone 5-0-1 since the 2010 loss to Wlodarczyk.
