MONTREAL (AP) -- Ronald Williams plunged for a 1-yard touchdown with 1:37 left and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats beat the Montreal Alouettes 27-26 Sunday in the Canadian Football League's East Division championship game.
Williams scored three touchdowns to help Hamilton advance to the Grey Cup game for the second year in a row. The Tiger-Cats, who lost last season's title game against Calgary, will get another chance to play the Stampeders, who defeated British Columbia 26-24. The Grey Cup game between Hamilton and Calgary game will be next Sunday at Vancouver. Montreal took the lead early in the fourth quarter when Winston October returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown. But Hamilton quarterback Danny McManus engineered a late drive to culminated in Williams' go-ahead score. The Hamilton defense forced Montreal to turn the ball over on downs in the final minute, sending a sellout crowd of 19,461 home disappointed. Montreal in the division final for a second year in a row.
