Was Penn State's punishment appropriate?

The NCAA has come down with harsh penalties against Penn State for its role in the Jerry Sandusky scandal. The university is being fined $60 million, will be banned from bowl games for four years, will lose a significant amount of scholarships and will see its wins from 1998 to 2011 vacated.
