Not since last Aug. 19 has a Cubs starter given up 7 earned runs as John Lackey did on Saturday against the Marlins. It came on seven hits and three walks as Lackey left some balls in very hittable spots as they crossed home plate. His ERA rose from 2.78 to 3.29 after the outing which lasted 4.1.
