CHICAGO Teams

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Anthony Rizzo's seventh-inning, bases-clearing double was his 17th career go-ahead hit in the seventh inning or later. Cubs now lead the Brewers 6-4 after Ben Zobrist tacked on an RBI single to score Rizzo.

The Cubs' Anthony Rizzo clears the bases with a double in the gap to give Chicago a 5-4 lead, then pumps his fist as he pulls into second base. How big is it now that Joe Nathan recovered the last inning to strike out the side and keep the score at 4-1?

From ESPN Stats & Info: Cubs starter Jon Lester failed to get through five innings for the third time in his last four starts. That happened once in his first 16 starts of the season.

Cubs shortstop Addison Russell left today's game with a left heel contusion. He fouled a ball off his foot in his first at-bat of Saturday's game. He played through it yesterday but apparently it tightened up on him, so he's taking the rest of the day off.

Hard to see what, if anything, happened on the field, but the Cubs pulled Addison Russell after he flied out to end the fourth. Javier Baez is in at shortstop. I'll update when more information becomes available.

Bizarre start for Cubs starter Jon Lester. He's allowed five stolen bases in two innings to match a career high. In the second, he needed five outs after two runners reached on errant strikeout pitches. And yet, Brewers lead is just 2-0.

In regards to Adam Warren, who the Cubs optioned to Iowa to clear the way for Joe Nathan, Joe Maddon says the plan is for Warren to start at Triple-A. If the Cubs need a sixth starter, which Maddon says still could happen, Warren would likely be the guy.
