Olney: Shields trade talk 'makes sense'

Comeback loss a rarity for White Sox
Chicago's bullpen gave up seven runs to Kansas City in the bottom of the ninth on Saturday to lose 8-7. The White Sox, now in their 116th big league season, had previously lost only one game in which they led by at least a half-dozen runs in the ninth, Elias Sports Bureau reports. And even in that game, played on Sept. 21, 2013 at Detroit, the Sox saw their opponent merely tie the game with a six-run ninth before the Tigers won it in the 12th.
Saturday's longest home runs
A pair of Athletics had big blasts on Saturday, as Danny Valencia's 451-foot home run led the way while Billy Butler's 443-foot bomb -- his first HR of the season -- ranked third.
Jeremy Crabtree RecruitingNation
With ESPN 300 receiver Hezekiah Jones' decommitment from Baylor Saturday evening, the Bears' 2017 recruiting class is essentially down to one commitment. While both ESPN 300 quarterback Kellen Mond and three-star safety Jalen Pitre remain officially committed, Mond is actively looking at Ohio State, Auburn and other schools. Jones backing off his commitment is a big loss for the Bears, but it also isn't a major surprise. Jones, the No. 16 receiver in the country, has continued to be heavily recruited by Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and many others even though he was a longtime Baylor commitment.
Garcia hits another long homer
Avisail Garcia's two-run homer off Royals starter Yordano Ventura on Saturday traveled 443 feet, six feet short of tying his season-high on April 26, per ESPN's Home Run Tracker.
Wrigley wind makes an impact early
It didn't take long for the wind at Wrigley Field to make its presence known on Saturday, as Dexter Fowler's 379-foot leadoff homer in the first inning wouldn't have left the park in normal conditions, per ESPN's Home Run Tracker.
Brett Eibner's single capped the biggest ninth-inning comeback in Royals history, a seven-run rally off David Robertson and Tommy Kahnle that lifted them over the White Sox 8-7 Saturday.
Kyle Hendricks pitched a five-hitter for his second career complete game, Dexter Fowler hit a leadoff homer and the Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 on Saturday.
Soler's shot sets personal record
Jorge Soler mashed a solo home run off Phillies starter Adam Morgan on Friday that traveled 452 feet, a new career long for the outfielder and the longest by a Cubs player this season, per ESPN's Home Run Tracker.
Friday's longest home runs
Jorge Soler's fourth-inning blast was one of three Cubs homers in their 6-2 win over the Phillies. Alex Rodriguez homered for the first time since coming off the disabled list.
Eric Hosmer had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs as the Kansas City Royals rallied to defeat the Chicago White Sox 7-5 on Friday night.
Haley Peters scored all of her 16 points in the fourth quarter to help the San Antonio Stars rally from a 15-point deficit and beat the Chicago Sky 79-78 on Friday night.
Reaching 100 career homers has been one pleasure among many veteran catcher David Ross has enjoyed sharing with Cubs teammates this season.
