Bracing for the worst

The Chicago Bears are holding off on making any official announcement on Dusty Dvoracek's reported torn right ACL pending further medical tests, but Dvoracek's teammates are bracing for the worst.

"It's bad, anyway you look at it," said fellow defensive lineman Anthony Adams. "I feel bad for him. You just got to pray for him, and pray that he bounces back.

"It's tough man, words do it a disservice. I can't describe how he feels, I can't describe how I feel. When I heard about it, I was like, 'man, it just [stinks].'"

"I wouldn't say [he's got] bad luck, that's just the way it goes, it could happen to anyone," said Danieal Manning. "It's unfortunate it happened to Dusty four years [in a row]."

If Dvoracek is out of the equation, that puts further pressure on second-year tackle Marcus Harrison, who is working himself into much better shape the past few weeks.

"Just got to step up," said Harrison. "That happens year in and year out, so you have to be ready to play when your number is called.

"We feel for Dusty, I mean the defensive line is going to step it up even more and try to play for him [Dvoracek] as well as ourselves and the team. It's extra motivation."
