No. 2 Chicago Curie playoff-eligible

CHICAGO -- Chicago Curie Metropolitan High School's basketball team, ranked No. 2 in the nation, will be allowed to compete in the Illinois state playoffs even though it was forced to forfeit this year's games because several players were academically ineligible to compete.

Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Executive Director Marty Hickman said today in a statement that Curie will be allowed to participate in the IHSA Class 4A State Series tournament, which begins Monday.
