Starlin Castro ready to begin drills

MESA, Ariz. -- Chicago Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro will begin fielding and hitting drills Tuesday as he recovers from a right hamstring strain that has kept him out of spring games.

"Let's see this weekend," Castro said Monday morning. "Maybe I can get into a game."

Cubs manager Rick Renteria, however, said later Monday that Castro's return to game action may not occur until next week.
