White Sox place Jose Abreu on DL

Chicago White Sox rookie first baseman Jose Abreu, the major league leader in home runs, was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with tendinitis in his left ankle.

The White Sox announced that Abreu has been diagnosed with posterior tibia tendinitis in the ankle. Speedy outfielder Adam Eaton was activated from the disabled list in a corresponding move.
