Jason McLeod to stay with Cubs

BOSTON -- Chicago Cubs senior vice president of player development and amateur scouting Jason McLeod has withdrawn his name for consideration for the vacant San Diego Padres general manager's job, he told reporters on Monday afternoon.

"Obviously very humbled and flattered the Padres were interested," McLeod said. "That's my hometown team. That's always been a dream job for me but as I got to sit and reflect and think about it, this is where I want to be right now."
