Konerko named an AL All-Star

CHICAGO -- Two days after finishing third in the fan vote for the final American League All-Star Game roster spot, Paul Konerko found out he is going to Anaheim, Calif., to play in Tuesday's contest after all.

The White Sox first baseman was named as an injury replacement for the Minnesota Twins' Justin Morneau, who had been voted in as the AL starter by fans. Player-elected All-Star Miguel Cabrera of the Detroit Tigers will now get the start at first with Konerko acting as a reserve.
