White Sox scratch Gordon Beckham

DETROIT -- The Chicago White Sox scratched second baseman Gordon Beckham for Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers.

Beckham was hit by a pitch in his right hand on Aug. 30 by Cleveland Indians rookie reliever Frank Herrmann, and Beckham said the pain was most intense Tuesday. He said he couldn't hold a bat.
