Jim Hendry praises Theo Epstein hiring

Former Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said chairman Tom Ricketts hit a "home run" in hiring Theo Epstein.

Ricketts fired Hendry on July 22, but Hendry remained with the team through the June amateur draft and July trade deadline. Epstein was hired as president of baseball operations on Oct. 21, and he introduced Jed Hoyer as GM and Jason McLeod as vice president of scouting and player development on Tuesday.
